Dengue Control

Dengue fever is a viral infection spread by mosquitoes. The mosquitoes that carry the dengue virus are more common in areas of the world with tropical and subtropical climates, as is the case in our country, Costa Rica.

The dengue test analyzes the blood looking for signs of Dengue infection. There are two main types of tests; one looks for the virus and the other detects antibodies against the virus.

Antibodies are proteins made by your immune system to fight foreign substances like viruses.

Exams included:

1. complete blood count
2. Detection of IgM, IgG Antibodies
3. Antigen detection
