Haemophilus ducreyi is a bacterium that causes a sexually transmitted disease known as Chancre Bland or Chancroid.
Form of infection:
You can get the infection through unprotected vaginal, anal, or oral sex with an infected person.
Symptoms:
In both men and women, the bacteria induce the production of a chancre, which is a painful lesion with irregular edges in the genital or perianal region (area that goes from the anus to the genitals). Multiple chancres are usually present.
